Behind The Scenes at GMJ
This past Saturday I woke up at 4am to go bake cupcakes and poptarts on Good Morning Jacksonville.
After 13 cups of coffee, Jorge and I finally made it to the studio downtown.
Once we got there, we started hauling everything in from the car. I was totally surprised when the producer told me that you have to bring in everything for the segment. They have absolutely nothing there!
I was so thankful that Jorge was able to come with me to carry everything into the studio…otherwise it might have just been me and my big pink Kitchenaid mixer up there!
While I had a little over an hour to set everything up, it seemed like 10 minutes. I kept finding myself staring at the monitors and trying to take deep breaths…but not too deep of breaths where I would hyperventilate –which was a serious possibility by that point!
Once the camera started rolling, I thankfully fell into my natural kitchen groove. I may not know television, but thankfully I know cooking!
Below is both segments pieced into one video. I have watched it once, and only once. I know that I managed not to get bleeped, cut off a finger or pass out…so all in all, I consider my first time on TV to have been a success. Big thanks to both Len & Mike for making me feel welcome and comfortable in front of all those bright lights and cameras!
P.S. Sorry for the not so great photographs! Didn’t bring my big girl camera…so ended up taking all these photos with the iPhone!
