Recipe Ingredients

The ingredients here are embarrassingly easy, even for the syrup! Here’s all that you need for this amazingly indulgent breakfast:

  • Cream Cheese: Softened, for easy mixing.
  • Powdered Sugar: Don’t use granulated sugar here – it won’t dissolve well. 
  • Maple Syrup: Pure maple syrup. 
  • Milk: You can use any milk you like. 
  • Maple Extract: This is optional, but so yummy.
  • Non-Stick Spray: For greasing the waffle iron.
  • Cinnamon Rolls: I like Pillsbury Grand original cinnamon rolls.

How to Make Cinnamon Roll Waffles

I just know that you and your family are going to love these epic cinnamon roll waffles as much as we do. Plus, they are so easy, your kids can help! Or, if they are old enough, they can even make them on their own.

  • Make the Maple Cream Cheese Syrup. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and maple extract (if you’re using itl) until smooth.
  • Cook the Waffles. Heat up your waffle iron, spray it with nonstick spray, and place one cinnamon roll at a time in the center. Close the waffle iron, and cook the cinnamon roll for 2 – 3 minutes, or until cooked through and golden-brown. 
  • Enjoy! When the waffles are all cooked, serve them warm, drizzled with maple cream cheese syrup.

Can I Freeze Cinnamon Roll Waffles?

Sure! Leftover cinnamon roll waffles can also be frozen, for up to two months. Wrap them well or store in a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn. Thaw in the fridge before reheating.

Cinnamon Roll Waffles

These super easy Cinnamon Roll Waffles are made with canned cinnamon rolls and a drool-worthy homemade maple cream cheese syrup. Breakfast has never been so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon maple extract, optional
  • non-stick spray
  • 1 7.3 oz can Pillsbury grand original cinnamon rolls

Instructions 

  • Using a hand mixer, or stand mixer, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk and maple extract (optional) until smooth. Set aside.
  • Heat waffle iron. Spray with non-stick spray. Place one cinnamon roll in the center of waffle maker. Close waffle iron.
  • Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until waffle is cooked through and golden brown.
  • Continue until all waffles are cooked. Serve warm and drizzle with maple cream cheese syrup!

Yield: The amount of waffles made will depend on the number of cinnamon rolls in your can. I used Pillsbury Grand original cinnamon rolls. I have also tried it with the Cinnabon version and they are delicious as well!

    Call my dad loves to have breakfast for supper and asked me to make French toast. I had a can of cinnamon rolls in the refrigerator and was not sure what I was going to do with them. I decided to make them for him tonight with this recipe. He gave it a 10 thumbs up! And like the other person, said, I use the icing from the can also in the icing recipe. It came out amazing! Anything to make him happy! Doesn’t take much.

    These were ridiculously good!!! The syrup is DEF a must have and pushed it over the top! Thanks for this great idea!

    For those having issues with sticking/breaking waffle iron: I sprayed my waffle maker in between each cinnamon roll. Once I was done and unplugged the iron, I put a wet paper towel in between and closed it. That steamed it and then it was easy to wipe down.

    While technically they “turn out,” the mess they create makes this recipe far from worth trying. If they were amazing I might do again, but they were just kind of tough and chewy (not in a good way). I thought the caramelized sugar ruined my new waffle iron. It was a horrible mess to deal with. 

    This recipe was also on the box of my new waffle iron which is kind of a sick joke now that I think about it. 

    Thumbs up for the maple icing though!

    Sadly, these didn’t turn out for me AT ALL. The cinnamon rolls split in the middle, as if I had sliced it to make a cinnamon roll sandwich. I thought the first one was just learning curve, but the second did the same. So the other 3 went into the oven to bake normally. I’m so disappointed! I’ve made tons of waffles in that waffle maker (including brownies). Were yours at room temp before putting them in the waffle iron?
